Your Child’s First Dental Exam

The examination itself will be brief but comprehensive. A dentist or hygienist will check your child’s teeth for decay, examine your child’s bite, and scan the gums, jaw, and oral tissues for any potential problems. If we find any issues, we will clean your child’s teeth. We will also assess the need for a fluoride treatment at this time.

After the examination, our dentists and hygienists will talk about children’s oral health care basics with you, discuss dental developmental issues, and answer any questions you may have.

When Do Kids Need To See A Dentist?

Regular visits to the dentist are an essential part of maintaining oral health. Ideally, it is best to take your child to the dentist between two and three years of age, and every six months afterwards. The earlier you begin, the better chance your dentist has to prevent problems, which is a lot easier and less expensive than fixing them.
